“Buckle is incomparable to any other artist, with her originality shining like the North Star.”- Atwood Magazine
Ebony Buckle is a London-based conceptual pop artist, originally from Townsville. With her music Ebony holds a mirror to herself and the world, reflecting the human want and struggle to fit in or break out. Buckle’s effortless vocals & vibrant songwriting are showcased in every performance, delivered alongside her husband - musician and producer Nick Burns.
Ebony’s debut album Disco Lasers came out in 2021, receiving critical acclaim from the likes of Earmilk and Atwood Magazine, who challenged their readers: “I defy you to name another album as colourful and imaginative as Ebony Buckle’s Disco Lasers''. The album is a collection of audio-visual stories inspired by folk tales and the crossroads between fiction and science, told through Buckle’s soaring vocals & imaginative songwriting.
Dive back into her magical world with her upcoming album Hearts Get Started, which provides insight into Buckle’s musical exploration of pop, rock and folk over the past 4 years. Filled with old favourites and new explorations, this prequel to Disco Lasers invites you to follow on her journey of how she first found her voice, and where it’s taken her since.
With support from OCULAR
OCULAR are a 5 piece UK jazz fusion band. Forming as a 4 piece back in late 2021, they began writing and recording music, developing a large catalogue of original music. Throughout 2022 they continued playing as a hobby, and as the end of the year approached, they set their sights on making it serious.
After releasing their first single “Aurora” back in January of 2023, they saw a growth in attention and quickly became a standout band in the local music scene. Throughout the year, they continued writing more music, and began gigging at local venues, and supporting key artists within the area. In June of that year, OCULAR became a 5 piece, and with the addition of saxophone, they went on to record their self-produced debut album “PLANET OCULAR” which would later release in December of 2023.
