Description
TALENTBANQ Presents Sylvie Hallam LIVE at the legendary Green Note, Camden
London based singer-songwriter Sylvie Hallam writes soul-filled indie pop songs with lyrics that cut to your core. When she is not scouring catalogues of music searching for the next song to cry to, she is writing one. The illegible scrawl of her feelings is translated and understood by songs, something that she hopes her listeners will experience too.
Over the years, Sylvie’s songwriting has landed appraisal from BBC Introducing and Radio 1 as well as opening doors to collaborations with Steve Brown (Rumer, Laura Mvula), Chris Hewitt (Ed Sheeran, Rag n Bone Man), and PeerMusic UK. As BBC Radio London hosts David and Carrie Grant have said, “Her character and music have an authenticity to them. She is beautiful to watch perform.”
Released under the wing of Mahogany, Sylvie Hallam's debut EP ‘Walking With You’ unravels her turbulent journey through relationships with distinctive musical depth. As well as being the sole writer, her integral role in the production and visuals makes this project a very personal expression of a formative era of her life. Her church background and love of harmony have lent a soulful undercurrent to her indie pop project, which she is bringing to the live space all over the city and beyond.
Support from Murray Reid and Rebekah Young.
Murray Reid is a 25 year old singer/songwriter from London. Murray's songs are unfiltered insights into his life, storytelling through his love for words and melodies. Having written with some notable names in the UK scene, he is now releasing his own project, marked by a deep respect for RnB and Soul giants, such as, Leon Bridges, Yebba and more recently Olivia Dean. His mixed Ugandan/British heritage, bitter and beautiful life experiences and unique artistic expression all contribute to a sound he hopes is fresh in the singer/songwriter genre.
Rebekah Young is a Neo-Soul meets R&B artist from the North East of England. With influence from artists such as Amy Winehouse and Lauryn Hill, she intends to communicate stories, moments of time through music whilst also sharing her faith.
Doors open 7pm. Music starts 8.30pm. The venue is mixed seated and standing. Tables are limited and available on a first come first served basis so, if you’d like a seat, we recommend arriving early!
