Madeline lives in a constant state of reinvention, pouring a new self into every performance. Her music has a unique alchemy of soul baring lyrics and a fearless dry wit. “No One Can Have Me”, her debut single that came out in March of this year is written with a near painful raw honesty.

Hailing from Preston in North West England, (& living in the shadow of Europe’s longest bus station) Madeline credits the grey skies of suburbia as the catalyst for her desire to create. Her lyrics are haunted by a cynical giddy self-awareness - this itself the vessel for her delicately strung explorations of religion, womanhood and modern-world-living.

Having firmly established her presence in the London Folk scene, performing frequently at the likes of Spiritual Bar, Jamboree, Troubador and Camden Assembly, Madeline’s show at Green Note on the 22nd of May will be her first Headline and will serve as her returning London performance after she will have completed a run of shows in the North of England. She warmly invites you to join her in this celebration of musical catharsis, expect laughter, screams and utter transparency.

McGovern is a psych-folk artist from Sussex, with familial ties to Cork and Glasgow. Raised in an Irish traditional band and surrounded by drunken jams, McGovern’s tone lives where noise meets sound and wrong is right. His debut album will be released independently later this year.

   

Doors open 7pm. Music starts 8.30pm. The venue is mixed seated and standing. Tables are limited and available on a first come first served basis so, if you’d like a seat, we recommend arriving early!
