CAOLAN MCCARTHY Live at The Libra
Caolan McCarthy Live at The Libra, Camden | An acoustic 'listening' music venue operated by TALENTBANQ.
Caolan McCarthy is an Irish artist who has made a name for himself in both music and acting. A Grammy-nominated musician, composer, and music coach for theatre and film, he is also a classically trained actor, graduating from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA). Caolan has appeared in various theatre productions from the West End and the National Theatre and can be seen as Uncle Sammie in Kenneth Branagh’s Oscar-nominated film, “Belfast”.
Caolan released his long-awaited debut EP, Paper and Stone, in September 2023; six-tracks of original music showcasing his talent as a singer-songwriter and pianist. Each song reflects a different aspect of Caolan McCarthy’s musical influences with song ranging from stomping pop-rock ballads like “Selma McGlone” to introspective and melancholic country ballads like “The Day” and growling, Blues Rock belters like “Three Men Were Walking”. A gigging musician since he was 15 years old, Paper and Stone is the culmination of years of honing his craft over hundreds of gigs and finding his voice as an artist. Caolan’s Irish wit and art of storytelling, alongside his timeless catchy hooks and fresh energy, has given him a unique ability to develop a deep connection with his audience every night.
Caolan is releasing brand new music this year and to celebrate his first time playing Live at The Libra, he will perform the world premier of one of his new songs. Normally backed by his 5-piece band, The Pines, this is your chance to be present at a rare intimate gig - just Caolan and his piano. A night not to be missed.
