Lady Petrol Live at The Libra, Camden | An acoustic 'listening' music venue operated by TALENTBANQ.
After originally meeting in 2014 playing in the house band for the Punch Drunk Theatre show The Drowned Man, Meg Cavanaugh (vocals), Graham Farnworth (guitar, vocals) and William South (piano/guitar) became firm friends and played many bar gigs around London and further afield together in various loose combos.
After several years of really getting to know each other they formed The Lady Petrol Band and have written a collection of original songs they’re proud of, jazz soaked soulful Americana with many twists and turns and lyrics mostly chronicling the life of a working London artist. You can hear the va va voom of Lake Street Dive in there and a whiff of the verité of The Delines too.
Gigs so far have included a stand out performance at Black Deer Festival, celebrated cabaret venue in Piccadilly, Crazy Coqs and the famous mardi gras festival in Hastings, Fat Tuesday.
