A CIRCLE OF STRINGS AND SONG (Run Remedy, Daisy Chute, Bryony Lloyd, Midori Jaeger) Live at The Libra, Camden | An acoustic 'listening' music venue operated by TALENTBANQ
Run Remedy is the brainchild of violinist and evangelical escapee - Robin Koob. Raised by two church leaders in American east coast suburbia, Robin's particular flavor of experimental folk is laced with equal parts grief and goof, playfully exploring themes of transatlantic struggle, familial rejection, gay panic, and forbidden first kisses.
Singer and string’est by trade, Koob has hustled her way across East Asia, Germany, and the UK with her ever expanding pedal board, playing everything from post-rock to psych pop, indie, and jazz with all the while building her own creative voice. Her attention to detail and arrangement can be seen throughout every song, making for an intricate audio experience for those who enjoy a good laugh, or cry.
Daisy Chute has found a loyal following through her award-winning songwriting and jaw-dropping vocals. Receiving a Grammy in 2024, Daisy straddles folk/americana, classical and jazz worlds and regularly sells out shows across UK/Europe/US. Daisy can be spotted with a guitar or banjo at top arts venues like Kings Place London and Stables Milton Keynes and festivals including Black Deer, Cambridge Folk and Glastonbury.
Her original music and singing features on BBC Radio and TV/Film/Game soundtracks and is playlisted across Caffé Neros globally, and she is co-writing a musical about witch trials ‘Coven’ premiering in 2025.
Bryony Lloyd blends heartache and humour in her fresh and healing sound. Her detailed and dreamlike lyrics glide on vast, haunting melodies giving a tuneful air with deep feeling. This freshness combined with folk influences make her sound unique yet achingly familiar.
Raised in south east London with a fascination for folk tales, female songwriters and any instrument she could find, she dove into music wherever she could, and was impelled to write songs of her own.
She now lives in Manchester where she frequents open mics, gigs and music collective nights. She has gained a rapport and made a name for herself in both Manchester and London, made clear with the turnouts of her shows and pin-drop silence from audiences.
Midori Jaeger is a cellist, singer and composer who writes emotive songs from the cello. Midori toured the UK and Europe in 2023 and 2024, including at Union Chapel, EartH Hackney, Queen Elizabeth Hall, the Purcell Room, Sage Gateshead, TivoliVredenburg in Utrecht and Muziekgebouw Eindhoven. Fiercely independent, she is self-managed and unpublished with no record label, preferring to carve her own path and let those who resonate with the music come to her. Her lyrics confront belonging, gender and mixed heritage through a distinct cello-field sound that leaves listeners deeply moved. As a globally in-demand live and studio collaborator, Midori has toured the world in 2024 and lent her creative touch to Courtney Pine, China Moses, Tanita Tikaram, Jack Savoretti and Erland Cooper including at Barbican Hall, Glastonbury Festival, the Royal Albert Hall, on BBC 1 The One Show, BBC Radio 3, and on German and French television. Midori also takes film, dance and podcast music commissions.
