Aboard this majestic floating arts centre at Canary Wharf, conceptual pop artist Ebony Buckle joins forces with the evocative Desbande Quintet for her final show of 2025.

Ebony will perform with her exceptional band, and together, they'll traverse familiar favourites and freshly coined melodies. Expect sea-shaped introspection, tango sparks, and jubilant crescendos.

2025 has been full of highlights for Buckle; she was voted "Best new artist" in Prog Mag before heading to the Netherlands to tour with Dutch legend Anneke van Giersbergen. She headlined Soundle Festival and most recently performed a sold-out show at The Stables with the prog rock band Solstice.

This concert will celebrate a year well spent and look towards the next adventure that approaches.

Ebony Buckle is a London-based artist originally from coastal Townsville, Australia. She brings a kaleidoscopic mix of folk, art pop, rock and ambient influences. Her debut album Disco Lasers (2021) captured imaginations with its audio-visual tales and luminous vocals, while her second album, Hearts Get Started (October 2024), serves as a prequel collected over years of creative growth. She writes and produces with her Husband, Nick Burns.

Desbande Quintet ignites Tango Nuevo with emotional depth and precision, channeling Astor Piazzolla’s legacy with dynamic energy. Critics have praised their performances as “truly explosive” journeys—“a seamless river of unpredictable emotions” in which audiences feel transported to Buenos Aires itself.

They most recently joined the renowned Philharmonia and Argentine Tango Champions, Adrien Bariki-Alaoui and Iro Davlanti-Lo, for their event, “Marin Alsop conducts Bernstein and Piazzolla” at the Royal Festival Hall, London.
